hi i wanted to make a quick update to first to say sorry for not updating in a while, i need to sort things out here, i have just moved to universty and got my pc online so i shall try and update as soon as i can.

13. BASKET CASE
I first heard of Nana Kitade thanks to Shoujo Beat. My attention was grabbed by a elegant photograph of her, she was wearing a crimson corset and union jack tie, I admired her fashion taste straight off.
I did a little research and got hold of her second album ‘I Scream’. It wasn’t till track ten, Kibou no Kakera (Pieces of Hope) that I realised I had heard Nana’s music before because the track was used for the first opening song of the Powerpuff Girls anime. First of before I even go on about the music I just wanted to comment on the front cover of the CD because it made me laugh because Nana is devouring an ice cream and I remembered the saying ‘ I scream you scream we all scream for ice cream’.
Star Killer is one of the more leisurely paced songs of the album. Nana’s voice is a tad softer and almost seems wobbly at some moments don’t let this put you off though the drums and guitar in the background hold the song together, it just reminded me of something I’d hear in the credits of a movie. The second track I’m a time bomb is a lot more cheery sounding and was a good song to have as the second track I really liked the instrumental parts during the chorus breaks.
Lum’s Love Song is defiantly one of the most quirky sounding tracks on the CD The guitar playing is a lot lighter and Nana’s voice really sounds pretty. Friday the 13th has very catchy drumming from the start and I was straight away swallowed up by the song. Defiantly a tune I could get up and boogie to. Dark snow angel is the 6th track and begins immediately with quick lyrics and rapid instrument playing. The song is erratic in the sense one minute its super fast then slows right down.
I thought i’d mention that the last track BASKET CASE is a Green Day cover. If your a fan don’t take the cover to seriously nana’s just adding her cute feel to it for fun.
On the whole you can certainly feel she’s put a lot of effort and personal feelings in to this album. My favourite tracks are without doubt Sweet frozen kiss, Red haired girl and Pieces of Hope. I’ve been told this CD is a lot darker then her previous one, but I found the punky rock tunes really enjoyable and didn’t skip a single track if I was going to bring up any negative criticism at all it would be most of the tracks have a similar instrumental theme to them but it’s not really a problem it’s obviously a style she’s preferred and stuck with to make a great and enjoyable album.

Heavy Starry Chain is the eighth single to hit Japan from Tommy Heavenly6. The single was released a month before the release of her second album called Heavy Starry Heavenly (07.03.2007) Heavy Starry Chain was released to celebrate Tommy’s ten years in the music business. Heavy Starry Chain sold a total of 9,000 copies.
It reached #20 on the Oricon charts and managed to stay on the charts for a total of three weeks. Heavy starry Chain is one of my favourite singles by Tommy. It has dazzling intense electronic guitars performing constantly through out the song, which will gladly grab your attention.
I think Tommy in this song really pushes her voice to create this wonderfully forceful feeling in the lyrics. This is one of her more rocky songs at the momment and the PV created for it goes togther really nicely.
The B-side track on this single is ‘Always Somethin’ New’. The song has a more punky rock feel to it then the previous song. In this track the guitars feel more heavy and fierce. Tommy uses an interesting mix of English and Japanese on both songs which I really enjoyed. ‘Always something new’ is sadly not included on the Heavy Starry Heavenly album so if you want to get hold of it download or buying the single is the best option.
If you do option to purchase the single defiantly pick up the DVD-CD version the PV is pretty funky and has Tommy dressed up in a gothic outfit and a coffin at some points singing into a apple.
